Day 19 - 4/10/21 - Bolts and Tie Downs

We are trying to get ready for the next inspection! The engineer could not sign off on this work until he witnessed it, so a large crew came out on a Saturday to finish up the work before the inspector arrives Monday. This was about bolts and tie downs for the foundation.

 

It also involved, putting more holes in my bedroom walls to expose bolts that were there before?

 

And this fancy flashing between the old raised foundation and the slab that will be poured soon.

 Here are the bolts that they used.

 

 

Day 18 - 4/9/21 - Foundation Prep 2

 Today was a single worker, bending re-bar and tying those pieces together.

 It's still a giant litter box back there!

Day 17 - 4/8/21 - Foundation Prep 1

Martin has assured me there WILL be cat poop baked into our house foundation. It is basically a huge litter box back there right now.

 

 

In addition to the sandbox, they have been lining up the re-bar for the concrete pour, which is coming soon!

Day 16 - 4/7/21 - Filling in the plumbing trenches

There are fewer places for me to fall in my backyard! The trench that spans the yard has been filled in.

 

Likewise for the ones containing the drainage system.

 Now they level it all out get ready for the foundation pour!

Day 15 - 4/1/21 - First Inspection!

No pictures today, but we passed our first inspection! We can proceed without a need to move the power to a temporary location. Our GC, Avi, saved us some time and money on that brilliant plan! Hooray!

Now we can prep for the concrete pour and another inspection.

Day 14 - 3/31/21 - Dirt Dumpster Removal

 Well, we more than filled that sucker!

Day 13 - 3/26/21 - Laying down pipes

 Now that we have trenches, we have pipes to put in them!

It's a mess, but there is logic. And a Gonk! Hi, Gonk!
